A little space to slow down, get curious and enjoy doing something with your hands.
Ella’s Nook is a welcoming creative space in Anna Nagar West, Chennai, where you can explore a craft, pick up a book, work on your own project or simply take a break from your usual routine.
You don’t need to be an artist or arrive with a plan. Just come as you are, find something that interests you and enjoy the time you spend here.
The name Ella has a little story of its own.
In Keeper of the Lost Cities, Ella is a soft toy that brings comfort to Sophie when things feel overwhelming. We loved the thought of having something familiar and comforting to turn to ... a little reminder that sometimes, it’s the simplest things that help us feel better.
The name also holds a personal connection to our family and memories of Sathya’s father, Ellappan, whose spirit of hoping for the best continues to inspire us.
That feeling is at the heart of Ella’s Nook, too.
A place where you can pause, try something new, enjoy the company around you and leave with a little something ... perhaps a handmade creation, a new idea or simply a happier moment.
Welcome to Ella’s Nook.
Ella’s Nook is not just about learning a craft. It’s about enjoying the experience of making something, exploring your interests and giving yourself time to do what feels right.
Some days, you might want to learn a new technique. On other days, you might prefer to sit quietly with a book, work on a project you brought along or try something simply because it looks interesting. You can do that here.
Never tried painting, clay or crochet? Start with the basics, learn at your own pace and enjoy the process without worrying about getting everything right.
Bring the children along to explore something new while you enjoy creative time of your own. Make something together or choose different activities.
Swap the usual outing for hands-on creativity. Make something together, try something unfamiliar and enjoy time away from everyday routines.
Ella’s Nook can host creative group experiences that offer a refreshing change from the usual meeting-room setting.
You don’t always need a special occasion or a planned activity. Sometimes, a change of surroundings and a little time for yourself are reason enough to visit.

Open Creative Time is for those moments when you simply want to do something with your hands, explore a craft or spend time in a creative space without signing up for a structured workshop.
Come in, explore the available activities and choose what you feel like doing. You could try a craft, continue something you’ve been working on or spend a little time with a book or puzzle. You can come alone or bring someone along.
You don’t have to know exactly what you want to make before you arrive. Sometimes, the best ideas happen once you get started.

Some of our favourite moments at Ella’s Nook aren’t always part of a planned workshop.
They happen when someone picks up an unexpected material, when a first attempt turns into something delightful or when people who arrived to try a craft find themselves sharing an afternoon around the table.
Here are a few little stories from our nook.
Ella’s Nook is growing one little experiment at a time. New crafts find their way onto our tables. New faces walk through the door. Visitors bring their own ideas, and sometimes, an ordinary afternoon leads to an entirely new activity.
We want the Nook to remain a space where curiosity is welcome, beginners feel comfortable and there’s always something new to explore.
There’s no need to get everything right. There’s no pressure to turn every interest into a skill or every afternoon into something productive.
Come to try, learn, make, share or simply enjoy being here. We’re happy to see what takes shape next.
Looking for a creative activity, a different family outing or simply a place to spend some time doing something you enjoy? We’d love to welcome you to Ella’s Nook.
Come by yourself, bring your friends, spend time with your family or join one of our scheduled creative sessions. You don’t need a special occasion to make a little room for yourself.
